Update: Ms. Dejae relinquished ownership of the dog in November 2024 due to financial constraints, selling the animal for $2500.00 and shipping it from Atlanta to Las Vegas. Subsequent veterinary examination revealed cryptorchidism, necessitating neutering to mitigate cancer risk. On January 7th 2025, she requested temporary care until February 7th, a request I granted. I later extended the deadline to February 28th as she was unable (once again) to retrieve him as per the agreement due to unforeseen financial circumstances on her part. I received a text that she would fly in on March 11th which was not an option as it was heartbreaking to see him go and i did not want our relationship to be strained. Consequently, my brother (her cousin) assumed responsibility for the animal's care. During the nearly two months I provided care, including training, Ms. Dejae did not contribute to the dog's expenses. On March 7th, the dog escaped from my brother's yard and remains missing. This situation contradicts Ms. Dejae's claim of strong attachment, raising concerns about her motives, particularly given the prior sale. The question remains: Would a truly devoted owner sell a beloved pet under duress? I believe this information clarifies the situation. (edited). See full comment
